TRAVELERS ARE STRESSED ABOUT BUDGET AND ITINERARY.

My personal interest for Rove came after a bachelorette trip that I planned for my friend. I was stressed about managing individual budgets, communicating the itinerary, and making sure everyone felt comfortable sharing their opinion.

For those who enjoy traveling, the excitement of a new trip can quickly become burdened with stressors like budgeting and itinerary management. Before launching into the project, I hypothesized that budget and itinerary management, specifically relating to group travel, were the two primary pain points.

A series of interviews confirmed this. Rove is designed to be a tool for users organizing solo trips, group trips, or events. It can be used as a collaboration product or for personal organization.

After a series of interviews, we discovered that 5/5 participants referred to budget and itinerary as pain points for travel.

TRAVELER'S ARE LOOKING FOR COMMUNICATION AND ORGANIZATION TOOLS.

The excitement of a new trip can quickly be challenged by harsh realities, especially with group travel. Unnecessary tension can spoil a trip with group member's don't understand each other's budget or how they are hoping to spend their time.

In my research, I found that group travelers are looking for a communication and organization tool that helps relieve any tension in these areas. There are apps out there that offer each of these, but an app to do it all has not hit the market... until Rove.

GIVING DESIGNS PURPOSE

MY PRODUCT GOALS

Rove has quickly become a product I would love to use. Driven by the focus of solution and budget, I challeneged myself to create wireframe flows that were intuitive but also left room for user customization.

I wanted this app to work for a range of traveler's and their unique approach to booking and managing trips. My main goal was to create a product that user's can rely on to communicate and manage their budget and itinerary needs.

GROUP BUDGETING WITHOUT THE STRESS

I have felt the stress of either not knowing what everyone's budget is in a group of feeling uncomfortable that something the group want's to do is out of my budget.

The budgeting solution was crafted from user interviews, research, and my personal experiences. Many of us can relate to being on a trip with friends and having budget be a looming cloud. If users are able to share their trip budget goals prior to starting the trip through Rove, all travelers can be on the same page.

ROVES GIVES TRAVELERS THE TOOLS TO CREATE THEIR DREAM ITINERARY.

Have you ever had a trip in mind and was disappointed to realize it was out of your budget? Or felt overwhelmed trying to figure out what would fit into your trip budget? I have, and I created Rove to help us.

Travelers are often overwhelmed trying to make their dream itinerary fit within their budget. Rove makes this easy with an intuitive budget tracker that updates as a user crafts their trip. User's can create their own itinerary or go with a suggested one created by Rove. This app makes trip planning fun.

4/4 Participants said making itinerary decisions is difficult in large groups.

A Note from the Designer

WHAT I LEARNED
FROM ROVE

Each project brings the opportunity to add skills to my toolbox as a UX/UI designer. With Rove, I had so many concepts I wanted to include but I was struggling to keep the app user friendly During this process I learned how valuable wireframes are for putting together all the puzzle pieces.

Prior to creating the wireframes for Rove, I had found little interest in Wireframes. I wanted to get through this step and onto the visuals. However, I realized how essential the wireframe process is and learned to love how I could put all my pieces together for my user.
